Similarities and differences between c3, c4 and CAM plants
CAM Plants
CAM plants, also known as Crasslacean Acid Metabolism plants, minimize photorespirstion. At night, CAM plants open their stomata allowing CO2 to diffuse through the leaves. The CO2 is converted into organic acid which can be used the next day. Typically, they are dominant in hot and dry areas.
